Investment Cambodia - What Makes it So Attractive?

For years I have been fascinated by investment Cambodia. The country has an interesting history, which dates back to before Angkor Wat was built. During the time of the Khmer Dynasty, in the 1970s, US citizens were investing in what is now Cambodia, for the primary purpose of reselling it to the world for a nice return. That venture resulted in the complete collapse of the economy, but it also created a wealth of experience on what could be done in the future to make sure that this country wouldn't be in that position again.

Today, most people who invest in the South-East Asian country of Cambodia are doing so as part of a business or as a second home. Some, like myself, have become so involved with the country that we have even had direct investments made into the country. This has allowed us to make friends and even come in touch with leaders of other countries. In fact, some of the leaders of other countries have chosen to make investments in Cambodia, in order to help the country develop and grow into a strong, prosperous nation.

As with many countries throughout the region, investment Cambodia has begun to pay off. The country's economy is growing stronger every year, and the infrastructure, such as hospitals, roads, and communications network, are all improving. One recent study by the World Bank, found that the infant mortality rate in the country was declining, along with levels of personal income. It is expected that this trend will continue, as life becomes more expensive in the country. In this situation, it is likely that Cambodia will begin to compete with other developing countries in the region for inward investment dollars.

When you consider the quality of the people living in this country, one must wonder if they deserve the investment money that they receive. While it is fair to expect good quality in any country, it must be said that the quality of the people of Cambodia is amongst the best in the region. They live a relatively comfortable lifestyle, have access to education and healthcare services, and enjoy political and economic freedom. A person could argue that these factors are the result of their living within an unstable environment, but when you consider the fact that the number of political struggles is relatively low, and the fact that the crime rate is also relatively low, it is obvious that the quality of life is shining through.

With over 100 million residents, the country has the largest population of any nation in the world. The city of Phnom Phen, also known as the City of Gold, has been the subject of an international investment bank for years. This area is home to a number of large multinational companies, such as EDDM, PCC, and Gold Star. These companies often times invest in real estate in the form of flats, offices, villas, or even hotels, in order to create more jobs and expand their business areas. There is no doubt that Cambodia will continue to rise in prominence as an investment destination. The central business district, which is downtown, is growing into a new and growing commercial and residential hub. The area is also home to many universities, and government offices, such as the Supreme National Tribunal, Central Library, and Phnom Phen City Hall. This is a prime location, because it offers all of the services a large city must offer, such as excellent public transportation, access to healthcare, and major employment centers.
